The deal is simple

ACDEMIC absorbs the 10 hours.
The teacher signs and edits.

Pedagogical judgment always belongs to the teacher. Nothing reaches a family or a document without the teacher seeing it first.

3–5 h Lesson planning, every week Decree 45509-MEP · 2026 templates
30 min Attendance with official codes, every day Article 37 · REAC 2026
2–4 h Grading, per assessment Article 40 · REAC 2026
Communicating with families, no set hours Article 10 · REAC 2026

That is what ACDEMIC absorbs. Here is how it looks from the inside.

4 systems that never talk to each other

From lesson plan to SEA, without retyping anything

Lesson plans get built in Word, attendance is marked on paper, grades live in a spreadsheet, and at the end everything is transcribed into the SEA. The same information, typed four times.

Decree 45509-MEP · Articles 37 and 40 · REAC 2026

With ACDEMIC
Lesson planning, with the official 2026 templates The study program arrives curated by subject and year: the teacher selects content instead of transcribing it, KADE proposes strategies and indicators, and it exports to PDF or Word.
Attendance, taken in class with the 5 MEP states One tap per student. The Article 37 grade calculates itself, and approving a justification recalculates the gradebook instantly.
Grading, with the REAC components and weights Every activity is born with its rubric or scale. The gradebook does the arithmetic, and the traffic light shows who is failing before the close, not after.
The close, as a file ready for the SEA The format came from validating it in a real classroom, not from a manual. And if grades already exist in the SEA, they import without retyping.
One word against another

The day someone disputes it, where is the record?

The school asks for the record behind a conduct deduction, or a family insists a grade was never communicated. If it happened over WhatsApp or from memory, there is nothing to show.

Title III · Articles 136–168 · REAC 2026

With ACDEMIC
Infractions are logged from the official catalog The REAC's, plus the school's own code. The family receives it with date and time, and leaves a record of acknowledgement. For serious infractions, due process is respected: nothing is asserted until it is final.
On formalization, grades freeze What was communicated stays stored exactly as it was. A later correction creates a new version — the original is never touched.
The record exports as a formal PDF With the acknowledgement of communication and space for signatures. The day it is requested, it prints.

Meet KADE

The pedagogical assistant that works for the teacher

KADE is ACDEMIC's AI. It is not a chatbot: it doesn't wait for instructions or clever replies. It knows the study programs, the templates and the regulation, and it always works under the teacher's signature.

  • Proposes mediation strategies and indicators for lesson planning.
  • Builds written tests with the MEP's official item taxonomy.
  • Protects data: no free-form prompts, and personal information is redacted before touching the model.

From the classroom to the home

Every entry the teacher logs reaches the family. The teacher sends no messages.

Guardians have their own app. Whatever the teacher logs during class shows up there, right away, without the teacher writing to anyone.

  1. The teacher takes attendance The guardian is notified automatically of their child's attendance status: present, justified or unjustified absence, minor or major tardiness.
  2. The teacher logs an infraction The guardian sees the type of infraction in real time and leaves a record of acknowledgement.
  3. The teacher publishes an assessment The family receives the notice, plus an automatic reminder 24 hours before the due date.
  4. The teacher closes the period Each family receives their child's report by subject, with the breakdown per component and a PDF to download.
  5. The guardian justifies an absence The justification reaches the teacher with the MEP cause and its supporting document. The teacher approves or rejects, and the gradebook recalculates.
  6. The family writes to the teacher Communication runs through ACDEMIC and stays on record. The teacher no longer gives out a personal number, and sets the hours they are available: outside them, messages wait in a queue.
The guardian app is free. Parents and students never pay. Only whoever provides education pays: the teacher or the institution. This principle is irrevocable.

Chat with families is included in the Pura Vida plan. Automatic notifications, period reports and conduct reach every plan, including the free one.

Let's talk

How it starts

Starting is not a project.
It’s minutes.

No migrations, no mandatory training, no waiting on anyone. The teacher signs up and teaches with ACDEMIC the next day.

Create the account

Free and self-serve at acdemic.com — no sales call, no mandatory demo, no credit card. Five minutes.

Create the section

Subject, grade and the weekly schedule. The study programs, components and templates were already waiting inside.

Invite the group

One code for students and their guardians — or the full roster as a CSV in one go. Tomorrow's first roll call already notifies the families.

Grades already started in the SEA? They import — nobody starts from zero for switching to ACDEMIC.

What people ask us most.

How is ACDEMIC different from MagicSchool, Khanmigo or Brisk?

Those products are great but they are not MEP-native. None of them understand REAC 2026, Costa Rican lesson planning, significant curricular accommodations or the DVM-AC templates. ACDEMIC was built by reading every article of the regulation, and when the MEP issues a new circular, we incorporate it.

Are my data and my students data protected?

Yes. We comply with Law 8968 (Personal data protection) and APRODHAB. Data encrypted in transit and at rest. Explicit guardian consent for processing a minor data. Audit log on every access to sensitive data. Before sending anything to the LLM, we redact all PII.

What happens when the 100 founder seats run out?

The default on sign-up automatically switches to the Tuanis plan. The 100 founders keep their price frozen for life no matter how much regular prices rise. No public plan will be able to have a promotional price below the founder price.

Is there anything to download or install?

No. ACDEMIC is an online service: the teacher goes to acdemic.com in a browser — on a desktop, laptop or tablet — and works there. Data lives in the cloud, so work can start at school and continue at home without moving files around. The only app that gets downloaded is the guardian app, and it is free.

Is it a one-time payment or a subscription?

It is a subscription, billed monthly or annually (annual works out to two months free). Payment goes through SINPE Móvil: pick the plan, make the transfer, upload the receipt. No card is requested or stored, so there are no automatic charges — when the term ends, the teacher decides whether to renew. If they do not, the account is not deleted: it drops to the free plan and the data stays.

Can I migrate my old data (Excel, notebooks, other systems)?

Today we support importing student lists via CSV. For old lesson plans, historical attendance and grades, we are building importers. If your school uses SICAI, assisted migration can be arranged.

What do I do if I find an error in a KADE generation?

Every generation is logged with the versioned template. You report the error from the app, and the pedagogical team adjusts the PromptTemplate, not the LLM. It is the exact opposite of "giving the model more prompt": we fix the source.

And if I am a student or parent? Do I pay anything?

No. Never. It is an irrevocable principle: only those who provide education pay (individual teacher or school). Parents and students always access their app for free.
